Alchemy is transformation many times deeply personal – a transformation of psyche, transformative healing, a fundamental shift in world view.
When stressful events like COVID intrude into our lives, many of us long for support in the midst of struggle and hope for fundamental change impacting us in positive ways.
Although the proto science of alchemy is most widely known through imagery of transmuting base materials into gold, alchemists focused on the inner struggle shared by all. These include alchemists like the famous Dr. Carl Jung and Sir Isaac Newton, whose work remains to influence our modern world.
The artists participating in this exhibit share their observations of the material world through the rarified and varied symbolism of Transmutation; they explore the states of matter, the planes of existence, the process of early scientific exploration, and other paths of Transformation.
Take a moment to step inside their minds; lose yourself for a moment in these worlds of the spiritual. Give yourself permission to share their inner realms of reflection, and come away with creative new avenues to explore your own personal journeys of renewal.
