July 19 - West Valley Symphony of Utah

Now celebrating its 30th season, West Valley Arts is pleased to welcome back the West Valley Symphony of Utah to the 2021 Summer Concert Series at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.  Formed in 1991 by founder Ralph Baker, the symphony is an all-volunteer orchestra of around 80 musicians ranging in age from 17-90.  The group is comprised of musicians from all over the Wasatch Front, who rehearse weekly to explore and share the emotion and expressiveness of symphonic music.  Donny Gilbert, Music Director.  George Dye, Associate Music Director.  Susie Bean, Concertmaster.

July 26 - Hot House West

Get ready for sheer delight, for here is happy music. When Hot House West begin to play, they unleash an impressive kinetic force, with pulsating, driving arrangements, the controlled fury of collective improvisation, and a spirit which no other band can match. This hard-hitting and straight-forward swing band have won over countless fans with their provocative and action-filled style of American jazz.

The nice thing about Hot House West is that they play for people, and when they play for people, they make no compromise in their art. Jazz fans, dance fans, old fans, and young fans alike enjoy their consistently thrilling music, for their charm is universal. Everywhere the band goes, feet tap, smiles broaden, glasses are emptied, and everybody is happy – patrons, bar tenders, waiters, club owners, everybody.

Hot House West have carved out of the vast, unrefined ore of jazz performance an incisive style, a unique personality, and a musical delicacy that seemed all but lost forever. If the test of greatness lies in taking the best elements of style and content, synthesizing them and creating an individual mode of expression, Hot House West have certainly met this test.

August 2 - Soulstics

The Soulistics are Utah’s premier dance and party band. We provide the highest quality musical entertainment for any event, with a repertoire to satisfy any musical appetite. Our energetic, unsurpassed performances feature some of the most-requested dance floor fillers, from the vintage classics right up to today’s top 20.

With dynamic male and female lead vocalists, a mighty horn section and a powerhouse of a rhythm section, The Soulistics bring talent, style and charisma that keeps you, the audience, on your feet from the first note of the opening song to the final encore.

August 9 - Night Star Jazz Orchestra

The Night Star Jazz Orchestra repertoire is comprised of modern and traditional jazz big band orchestrations. The classic sound of the studio orchestra is brought to life by the lush orchestrations that used a string section and evokes the sounds of the Hollywood sessions from the 40s, 50s and 60s. Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Anita O’Day, Joe Williams, Peggy Lee all sang with bands that featured great arrangers and beautiful music. We strive to bring the essence of those bands and artists back to the stage. We also feature contemporary arrangements from current writers working in the music business today like John Clayton, Michael Davies, Gordon Goodwin, Jeremy Levy, Tim Davies, and Drew Zaremba.
