Biographies for Theatre Programs

Your biography prepares our patrons before the show, during the intermission, and after the show because they want to know YOU. Tell us about your training and awards, future plans, or favorite roles (but not ALL of them, this is not a resume). Please avoid using "(Your Name) is excited to be performing with West Valley Arts..."

Please submit a biography with the following:
  • List your full name and role
  • The headshot you upload here will appear with your bio
  • Write in third person
  • Share your theatre highlights. List production name first in "Quotes" (the form ignores italics) and your role in parenthesis. "Title" (Role)
  • Share your accomplishments, plans, and goals. Did you recently complete a marathon? Do you volunteer as a firefighter? Be proud of where you are now and where you are going. Always tell the truth.
  • Avoid overused words such as thrilled, excited, debut, etc. We are all excited to be here but these words loose meaning for our patrons when we read them over and over, and over, and over, and over...
  • Do not use inappropriate language or comments, bios will be edited at the discretion of West Valley Arts
  • Always proofread carefully for spelling and accuracy of information

Examples:
John Doe (ensemble) is a second-year M.F.A. student in acting. For West Valley Arts: "Title" (Role), and "Title" (Role). For Other Theatre: "Title" (Role), "Title" (Role), and "Title" (Role). TV: "Title" (Role), on Netflix. John just completed his first marathon and is from Anytown, Anywhere.
